Multifunctional Field Margins. Assessing the benefits for nature, society and business

This paper describes multifunctional field margins (MFFM) as the best way to promote agricultural biodiversity. Nine pilot projects, carried out in nine countries, focused on restoring riparian forests, conserving pollinator habitats or creating wildlife habitats or ecological corridors for natural pest control. These projects are classified according to land use: grassland, forest and tropical forest. Through the projects and the scientific documentation collected, 20 environmental and 15 social benefits of MFFMs are presented.
