NBS and Public Sector

As part of the Interreg INDNATUR project, funded by the Interreg POCTEP program, the Public Administration Cooperation Forum for the Implementation of Nature-Based Solutions (FOCAPSBN) aims to connect public officials in the Iberian Peninsula directly involved in urban land management with their peers and with a vast knowledge base of successful and sustainable practical experiences in implementing nature-based solutions (NBS).

In this way, within the framework of this forum driven by the Natural Capital Factory, the aim is to help public representatives address the challenges they face, especially from a municipal perspective.

Objective

Identify the barriers faced by individuals responsible for municipal urban management when implementing nature-based solutions (NBS) and develop a framework for their involvement in the application and maintenance of these solutions.

Promote knowledge and the exchange of best practices in the application of NBS among those responsible for land management at the municipal scale in the Iberian Peninsula

Encourage investment in nature through the development of NBS at the municipal level to enhance connectivity, accessibility, and multifunctionality of urban green infrastructure

Contribute to capacity building in the application of NBS among public officials in the Iberian context

greater implementation and replicability of NBS Drive in the territories of Spain and Portugal
